Sometimes, we talk about conceptions of history, about our need to reassess and re-evaluate those conceptions. What I now know is that I constantly am making history. Every touch, every greeting, all my connections to people create history. Because I am a living being, I am a creator of history, and I am not permitted to be indifferent to other human beings.
